The Australian scientists have created crystals which can be tied in knot
The group of researchers from the Australian Queensland headed by associate professor Jack Klegg and professor John Makmerti has studied the structural mechanism which is responsible for elasticity of crystals at the atomic level. It has allowed them to create flexible monocrystals which if desired can be tied in knot.
