Robots Making Teeth

Robots Made my TOOTH!

I am Iron Tooth!

If you've ever had dental work done you know sometimes it can take days. I got a robot made dental crown last year from a machine just like this! It's never a fun time and I was expecting to get a temporary and to have to go back again, (ho hum)...and BAAM, look at this machine! I jumped right out of the chair and made my own video, but this video (same make and model of the same machine) is better:

I remember dental labs that did this work. Do you?
It's not technically 3D printing of a tooth, but it's darn close. It's 3D cad and then this wet machine makes the tooth out of a porcelain block. The wand camera was super cool and images of my teeth were displayed on a big flat screen monitor, which made my teeth look like the Appalachian Mountains. After the CAD imaging was finish edited by the dentist (reminded me of my art sculpting program on my iPad), in 13 minutes I had a brand new tooth made by the 2 robots inside this machine! No temporary, no return visit, no sending to the lab! There is no lab!

PERFECT fit. It snapped right into my face! Like a bionic iron tooth!

SO, that question again, will robots take our jobs? That's a question that Michael Johnson from Robot Overlordz and I discuss on episode 5 of the Michele the Trainer Show:

What do you think?

Big toothy smiles to all! :)

that is really interesting... The future is now!

Thanks @jrcornel -I think so. I was blown away by the machine. Much more enthused than the dentist. I asked if they tried printing pendants/jewelry. LOL

Interesting..... Have heard of 3d made heart and other body parts but Ive never heard of a robot made tooth before.. I hope the implanting wasnt hurting..?.

It was just a part of a tooth. I think they just use some super magic glue :)

I have that same ROBO TOOTH!!! It was fascinating to watch my CEREC tooth take shape. Subsequent dentists (I used to move a lot) often remarked that they couldn't even tell it wasn't natural.

@steemitpatina yes! that rocks. too bad these teeth can't also be USB drive or something :)

Wow that is fascinating. amazing machine
