In one hour the longest eclipse of the Moon in 100 years!

in #science8 years ago

Upcoming lunar eclipse will be the longest in 100 years. The orbit of the Moon has the shape of an ellipse, which means that once in a while it is farthest from the Earth, so it will stay in its shadow for the longest time. In Central Europe the eclipse will start around 21:30 and last for 1 hour and 43 minutes, during this eclipse the Moon will take on a red color.

And here it is one of my photos of our natural satellite :-)moon.jpg
