Welcome to my Blog! I am starting a new series of episodes where I will try to discover the mysteries related to our body and how science deals with many questions related to numerous functions that our body performs on daily basis.
The more you know – The more you think how little you know

Though Human body consists of incredible organs, among these eye is one of the most important, complex and amazing organ we have, as it enables the most incredible sense, which is vision. You are reading this post due to this incredible organ and with this eye you witness spectacular events and see incredible sights that remains in your brain for long time
Humankind has made some advancements in creating robotic eye and modern high tech cameras though there are many similarities between eye and modern cameras but they are by no means identical

Let me share some amazing facts and due some comparison with camera as well. Hope you will appreciate this incredible little organ

1- Pixels

In terms of pixels a normal camera today would start from 1 megapixel to may be let's say 50 megapixels or slightly more than that, human eye is massive 576 megapixels, meaning if your eye transform into a digital camera it could take the best HD and you have ever seen before, isn't that awesome

2- Number of blinks

An average human eye blinks around 25000 times each day and 15-20 times a minute

3- Color

The rarest eye color in the world is green and only two percent of humans have green eyes. Also human eye can only see RGB e.g. Red, Blue and Yellow colors. All others are combination of these three

4- Upside down

It is your brain that turns over the images for you not the eye, the retina actually view everything upside down

5- Memory

Around eighty percent of our memories are determined by our vision

6- Eye and Brain

Eye uses sixty five percent of brain power which is highest than any other organ in the body and in terms of complexity eye is the second most complex organ after the brain

7- Red eye

Sometimes when you take a snap from camera you can see red eyes in the picture, red eye occurs because the light from the camera flash bounces from the back of the eye, where blood vessels are are present hence causing red eye image

8- Eye and Sun

Can a constant look at the sun cause blindness? Its a myth, looking constantly at the sun is not that harmful but it is difficult to do for long periods and it could cause discomfort

9- Eye lash

An eye lash has a life span of around five months

10- Eye recognition

Compare to finger print forty unique characteristics, an iris in the eye has got 256 unique characteristics hence retina scan is becoming popular for security verification
