What you’re looking at is a live, beating heart of a rabbit. This animal’s heart can stay alive for as long as they are able to maintain this electronic membrane.

To naysayers who claim this is just a more advanced form of a pacemaker, nothing could be further from the truth. The pacemaker simply reminds the heart to beat of its own accord while it is alive. This device can actually keep a heart beating without any outside nerve stimulation, meaning it sends all the commands the heart needs to beat on its own, no questions asked!


This diagram illustrates the steps involved in creating the new heart device.

This process could be used to keep ailing victims of certain heart conditions alive longer.
