Tensorflow is really straight forward! I'd recommend trying it right away on real data by just copying a tutorial and then changing it so it accepts your inputs. Then play around with the parameters a bit to see how good you can get it to be. I first started playing around with TF a month ago and I already have a pretty good project going on.
