Absolutely. Writing a female character into the story is another challenge, one that will take more effort and also one I'm not sure I'll be able to do quite perfectly on my first attempt. I'm happy you liked the narration and how the coffee and backstory seemed to have some sort of connection. Yes! There will be a lot of action and adventure ahead...
