What if we have been reading the Old Testament backwards? What if the texts we call scripture were never written by humans, about humans, or for humans at all? The suggestion sounds heretical, even absurd, until you sit with the inconsistencies long enough to wonder whether the real absurdity is our assumption that ancient Hebrews produced these texts entirely on their own.

Consider the cognitive dissonance. A god who creates humanity then immediately regrets it. A deity who demands blood sacrifice yet speaks of mercy. Beings who descend from the heavens, interbreed with human women, and produce offspring described as "heroes of old, men of renown." For centuries, theologians have tied themselves in knots reconciling these elements. But what if the texts make perfect sense when read as something else entirely: the chronicles of an Earth-born Annunaki population, recording their own history, later appropriated and rewritten by the very beings they sought to document?
Read from this perspective, the flood narrative transforms. It is no longer a global judgment on human wickedness, though the later redactors certainly interpreted it that way. It is instead a targeted demographic intervention. The wickedness that grieved the divine beings was not abstract sin but genetic contamination. The flood was designed to reset the experiment, to wipe out the hybridized populations and start again with the one pure line: Noah.

But note: Noah is described as "perfect in his generations", a phrase that has troubled commentators for millennia. Perfect in what sense? The text hints at genealogical purity. Noah and his family represent the untainted line, the Annunaki who maintained their genetic integrity. They survive the flood not because they are morally superior but because they are pure. The ark carries the seed of the original creation, preserved through catastrophe.
