April 10, 2020--Daily Practice Blog in the time of the viruss

Another day down. Lots of work and practice taking place. It started with recording two lectures for Music Appreciation and what I thought would be a Music History class. Unfortunately, my Music History student didn't sign in to our Zoom meeting. Que sera. It gave me more time to finish up my other lectures. 1 to go. I then had a lunch of Clam Chowder with a Hawaiian roll. I then drove to the other side of town to practice organ for two hours. Afterwards, I stopped by the pet store for dogfood and came home. I practiced and hour of piano music before making dinner and came down to write this.

On the organ, I worked on BWV 626 and 627. I also learned a hymn for this Sunday and the accompaniment for the soloist. I ran through the prelude a couple of times before getting back to Vierne's Finale for the First Symphony. A week of practice will get it where it needs to be. I also recorded the Secrets of Organ playing Contest for week 67:

On the piano, I practice Chopin Op. 10 No. 1, a Mendelssohn Song without words, and a Brahms' Ballade Op/ 10 No .3.
