Seek knowledge: When I come home to Wisdom, I will find contentment because there is no conflict or pain in living with her. Wisdom 8:16

The sapiential literature teaches, among other things, to seek spiritual knowledge above all else, and this makes sense because love proceeds from, or is a cause of knowledge, no one can love or hate what they do not know. And taking the Sacred Scriptures as a reference, a simple example can be given to explain this spiritual truth, God, because he is wise, loves with mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness). Spiritual knowledge is what enables all other things, and this is because good intentions and love in practice are not enough. To bless and be blessed, to achieve happiness and well-being, one must resolve the problems that life brings with it with assertiveness, and that is achieved with wisdom, the science or knowledge that deals with the correct means to live.
The principle or beginning of spirituality is then the search for knowledge, or rather the desire to be instructed, and this is the spiritual gift of fear of God. This is how the path to spiritual enlightenment opens up, by retaining the wisdom received and putting it into practice with firmness and constancy. And so wisdom, for those who make progressive thinking their way of discerning, shows a path that can be compared to a sunrise that culminates in a beautiful midday. Wisdom then reveals itself as bread, water, and light that nourishes the soul. And this is what King Solomon wanted to teach when he wrote his Book of Wisdom, a very old book, but full of valuable teachings. Solomon, among other things, explained that wisdom is more important the more power a person has; in other words, wisdom is the science par excellence for kings, rulers, and sovereigns. And Solomon wrote something more about that supreme knowledge which is wisdom. Since wisdom is also one of the most perfect virtues for man, living intimately with her brings to the wise an ineffable joy and happiness, and so Solomon wrote: "When I come home to Wisdom, I will find contentment because there is no conflict or pain in living with her, only happiness and joy" Wisdom 8:16.
The sensible men then find in wisdom a true companion, a faithful companion who, once called, does not abandon those who desire her, a companion who builds countries and societies towards the common good.
