Indian marriage is known as vivaah and marriage ritual is known as vivaah sanskar. Indian marriage not only brings together bride and groom but their families also. It is best known for the lavishness, tradition, charm, colorful and vibrant combination of a number of marriage ritual & events. There are different religions and culture in the country, so the rituals and events vary widely.
There are number of pre-wedding and post -wedding rituals and event. They can be from one day to multiday function as preference of bride‘s and groom’s family. Pre-wedding ceremony includes roka, engagement, mehendi, sangeet night, haldi and many more as per the region and culture. Post-wedding ceremony includes reception, aashirvaad, and grihpravesh. Few key rituals common to all Indian wedding’s like kanyadaan, taking seven vow and promise to each other (saat vachan), holding each other hand near the fire to be a sign of coming together.

Apart from serious ring exchange ceremony and exchanging of vows there is number of functions in traditional Indian wedding. Pre-wedding gathering consist of foodstuff, melody and lot of enjoyment.
The haldi ceremony is common to both Hindu and Muslim weddings. During these tradition pre-wedding ceremonies female member of family sings traditional songs. On the day of wedding groom is going together with his family and friend in a cheerful expression known as the baraat.
