Afternoon everyone....
So I found this little goodie in the latest box of tricks from my private security place. This current box is mostly graded slabbed coins, so be prepared for those upcoming posts. There are some other trinkets that I will also be posting that were found in the box.
This is a 1977 Cien Peso and it’s the nicest one I’ve ever seen. That’s why I grabbed it. Most of the old Mexican coins are pretty circulated which is a shame.
This particular coin was graded by NGC and was given a grade of MS64. There is also a designation of low 77. I have looked this up. Evidently there were two varieties. It is assumed that there were two sets of dies produced. The first die had even numbers across. The second the 77 are set lower than the 19, as in the example I have.
