S.I.N1 Turned Boys to Steemit Men; S.I.N2 Will Also Make Me A Steemit Man

Don't be confused about the title of my post because I have a well detailed explanation to give about it. Life itself has it's own stages from time to time.

The first edition of Steemit in Nigeria (SIN1) held last year, 2017 in the beautiful city of ile-efe, Osun State, Nigeria. I was on steemit then but I didn't take it seriously because I felt I was going to be wasting my precious time on the platform. Though I was on a steemit watsapp group then, so I was seeing updates from people who were planning to attend the event. They were so excited about it but I didn't put interest into it.

Just before I mention the name of this person, listen to the short story.
A certain individual who joined the steemit platform in July, 2016 was like every other steemian who just joined as well but something was different about him; His Mentality. His passion for the platform made him take some risky steps and decisions.

He was one of those people that went to SIN1. He had just been posted to Kaduna, a northern state in Nigeria for this Youth Service as a Corp member. Being a corp member can be very challenging most times in terms of finance. Though thy are paid a certain amount of money called "Allawee" but how long can that carry them, coupled with things they would have to do as corp members most especially in carrying out Projects.

That not withstanding, he made preparations to attend the event in Ile-ife. I'm very sure that he might not have had all the monies needed to make that trip the way he would have wanted to but he still went ahead to go for the event, embarking on a 12 hours journey. When he got there, he started meeting people, especially those he hasn't seen before then. He made friends, met contacts, learnt alot from other steemians, took advantage of various opportunities he had. One of which was when he asked to be given an opportunity to Dance during the event because he's a very good dancer and performer. Afterall he's a graduate of Theater Art.

After the event was over and everyone had gone to their respective destinations, this same individual was left with a major challenge of finding his way back to his base, Kaduna. I called it a challenge because he didn't have transport fare to carry him back and he couldn't started asking for cash from others maybe because he might be seen as a beggar; I would have done same too if I was in his shoes! Finally after thinking about a lot of options, he saw a vehicle with space at the back of it used in transportation of goods to the various states but luckily for him, this particular vehicle was going to his destination. So he begged that they allow him stay with the goods at the back of the vehicle and his wish was granted. That was very risky for him but he didn't mind, he took the risk but thank God, he also arrived safely.

I'm very sure because he always says that "As a result of his attending that event, his journey on steemit has seen tremendous progress so far. On this platform, he has organized various offline competitions because he's no longer a Boy but a MAN and SIN1 played a major role in making that happen.

The Boy that is now a Man is no other person than @michaelcj!

STEEMIT IN NIGERIA (S.I.N2)

The second edition is just around the corner and it's taking place from the 30th of October to 4th of November, 2018 in the beautiful City of Abuja, The Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This year's edition promises to be fun-filled, with alot of daily activities already lined up for all the attendees. @ehiboss and the crew of @sin2 are really working round the clock to ensure that everything goes out well as planned. Here are some of the activities to the best of my knowledge so far;

• GAME NIGHT: For all the lovers of gaming, you are covered already during this event, so you don't wanna miss this.
  

• KARAOKE NIGHT: Music is one thing that doesn't need your permission to get into you. Music they say is life.
  

• HACKATHON: Are you a programmer, then this is for you as well. It's a challenge/competition where you are to show what you are capable of with your knowledge and just to spice it up a little, it's coming with a cash benefit. The winner goes with a cash price, so bring all you know with you.
  

• SAYA NIGHT: Suya is a special type of meat, most especially gotten from cows and I'm one person who's seriously looking forward to this because even though I don't reside in that city, I have an idea of how it tastes. There are no dull moments when it comes to this particular meat because it tastes so good. I hope your teeth can handle it? lol!

On this platform now, I'm still but a boy who's tired of his boyhood stage. I want to be a man on steemit, and that's one of the major reasons why I want to attend this massive event. Currently, you can liken my story to the one I just told you all because they are kinda similar in most aspects.

Some of the similarities are;

The distance in terms of time I will spend on the road.
My willingness to go for the event.
My passion for this platform.
Limited funds at the moment but that not withstanding.
I MUST attend!
