Thumbnailing is different for everyone
For me, I don't have a strict script that I am following. Instead, I have dialogue but no description of the environment -- largely because it hard to write a description of a background for me.
Because the writing is loose, I feel like I need a lot of scratch space to work out my ideas on the page.
