Did You Hear The One About The Musician Who Asked For A Drawing Of Syria?
This drawing is a request that I’ve been saying I’ll fulfill for over a month now. That’s too long!
@edprivat:
Sorry for the delay man, thanks for being patient.
He asked me to “draw what’s happening in Syria right now” and continued by saying “unless it’s too difficult for you. It’s ok if it’s too much to ask,” he said “if it is I totally understand.” Ed has fulfilled three of my song requests, (3!) which points directly to the obvious: I’m short on my end of the deal! I finally gave myself adequate time to correct that - Time to pay up! I also recorded the four hours it took me to draw this. The beautiful @puravidaville is in the process of editing that video now. I’m looking forward to making it my second ever Dlive post - Plus I’m anxious to see what all of the colored pencils look like when they’re sped up 8,000 times. Keep an eye out for that one, it’s coming soon!
This is the image I was consistently drawn to while studying Syria:

This challenge was tough, I’m not going to lie! Now I know what he meant by ‘if it’s too difficult I understand.’ Before I could commit to an image I had to thumb through a lot of pictures and information. Have you done that yet? Have you thumbed through a typical day in Syria? You’re in the right place if you haven’t - That’s what this post is all about. They’re dying over there right now as you read this. Kids, moms, teachers, buddies, tech geeks, piano players, elderly, cab drivers, doctors, panhandlers, delivery drivers - Dying. Let’s scroll through these progress pictures right quick and I’ll show you what I’m talking about:
This will be the cover for the Dlive video
”Did You Hear The One About The Musician Who Asked For A Drawing Of Syria?”
I kept seeing that Mickey Mouse dress. Every time I would search for information, that red Mickey Mouse dress would make its way to my screen:
Just recently I was riding shotgun with a girl who was wearing a Mickey Mouse hat. I asked her “do you think it’s mornal that every.single Walt Disney princess has to sacrifice a piece of herself in order to be socially accepted?”
:crickets:
But I wasn’t thinking about that when I saw this little girl:
I couldn’t help but think about Disneyland - “The happiest place on earth!” I was thinking about that world famous, friendly little, furry, cute, married to Minnie Mouse, squeaky voice having iconic symbol of the very country that’s trying to murder that little girl. I have a feeling she doesn’t understand that but how can she be expected to? The people forfeiting their annual earnings to finance the whole thing don’t understand either:
Four countries in the Middle East have resisted succumbing to hegemonic attacks: Iraq, Libya, Syria and Iran. Saddam - Iraq? We all know the results of that one: 0-1 USA. They called it Weapons Of Mass Disomething. Qaddafi and Libya - Same score. America bribed Qaddafi into submission and then proceeded to annihilate the entire Libyan regime with the force of proxy groups.

Trump Seeks New Regime In Iran
That’s what I’ve been doing so I could draw that little girl - Going over all of those things: Leaked emails, Trump talk, research and then research some more. Thanks for the challenge, Ed! I truly do appreciate the confidence.
The following images were found on DuckDuckGo - I searched ‘Syria war images.’
This is normal mornal in Syria:
The following pictures are landscape images taken of Syria before and after the US and it’s allies began their elimination process of the current Syrian regime:
Prior to accepting this challenge, I had a vague idea of the conflict in Syria, I just didn’t understand why. I finished the drawing, I’m done now - Now I have a vague idea of the conflict in Syria and I don’t understand why.
Very hard to see. Yet seeing is all we are doing. If we want to stop any of this we have to put ourselves in harm's way which also includes the entire family and all. So we sit and watch, pray for these people in sadness, destroying ourselves internally as we fight the battle within telling ourselves that we can do nothing.
You sure did say that well. I just responded above to you ‘your words are just as powerful’ and then I read this response. “Just as powerful.”
Thank you for reading @foxyspirit and taking the time to drop a line. I appreciate it!
These are things that are very hard for me to deal with. Feeling defeat before I can even take action.
I just read another Steemans post that relates to society and the chaos.
https://steemit.com/ungrip/@wwf/why-are-people-depressed-anxious-or-suicidal
It is a really good read and helps us see things the way we need to. Give it a chance if you have the time :)
Thank you for attaching that link! What a great article and great read, like you said.
You know what.. I wouldn’t normally promote my own post like ‘read this, read this’ but you might like Fork In The Road i did about 3 months ago about my own personal pharmaceutical demons. Reading that post by @wwe, I couldn’t help but be reminded of it.
I completely understand. When something sparks another it keeps the conversation going and realizations too. I love it! It creates a great circle and a lot of brainstorming too. I'm gonna go check out that post now :p
It's hard to imagine all the turmoil in the world as I sit peacefully taking in my morning coffee . I pray for peace and share the love. Oblivion is a closed community.
That's exactly it. In our part of the world we can only see the chaos through screens perfectly safe in our homes. It should be perfectly safe for everyone yet a government we all vote for only seeks to destroy.
Powerful words right there.
Your words were just as powerful. Thank you!
I’m currently enjoying my Morning Cup under the same circumstances.
The announcement by trump that the war games on NKorea boarder are provocative and will end (as media bashes this decision) gives me hope we may see a real change in Syria (at least USA involvement) I’m not saying it’s definitely going to happen but who would of thought a USA Prez would end war games abs call then provocative!
Anything that sounds positive is better than negative, that’s for sure. I’m just a ‘see it to believe it’ type of person, and I won’t hold my breath for anyone I’ve never personally met. I wouldn’t expect them to hold theirs for me either.. they’re doing their part well actually!
Man I didn’t know the severity of Syria before I accepted this challenge. I guess I just thought there was ‘war’ over there as though the wOrd war can be used as a blanket statement.
Thank you for stopping by @geneeverettshow! And kudos for running your own Vlog - The NoAgenda Show. Congratulations! I don’t know how ya’all do that live video of your face stuff!
Thank you! This was very moving , I could feel my spine trembling while scrolling down, I couldn't help but feel that the world is in hands of fucking psychopaths, the Bieldeberg Meeting is where some of these decisions are made as we speak.
I am conspiracy nut don't listen to me :)
Thank you, Ed. I’m glad you liked it. Dang! Those of you reading this may be interested in reading that article he just responded with.
I read the whole thing and thought it was current!! Only to learn it was written in 2015. Then all of the names click:
Peter Thiel
Goldman-Sachs
Google
Airbus ......etc.
And the article for THIS YEAR, the Vatican will be represented for the first time
Oh dude don’t even get me going!! I’ve literally lost blood relatives over that one.
My wife said: They’re just strangers with the same blood line anyway.
Edit: Apparently I’m not cool enough to look at that article, Ed.
@puravidaville is totally right, same blood line, and it's quite scary to think about it just for 2 seconds.
Don't even click on that garbage anyway it's the dailystar ! I was in a hurry i'll find something better!!
Well done for using duckduckgo btw !
Dear Artzonian, thanks for using the #ArtzOne hashtag. Your work is valuable to the @ArtzOne community. Quote of the week: Art, freedom and creativity will change society faster than politics. -Victor Pinchuk
Perfect. Well done. Like, perfect. Well articulated, I love the approach.
If only you could link that neat post by @puravidaville
about Voyeurism. Seems eerily relevant.
Love the work, my friend. I cannot wait to add auditory color once you are done with the pencils.
Man that’s awesome, I’m glad you like it! Thank you. I’m looking forward to listening to the soundtrack you create, can’t wait.
You mean: The Age Of The Voyuer by @puravidaville ? Done!
I watch Syria, Palestine, Nicaragua, and other areas all over the world. My heart just aches as I reach out with my feelings, rebuke those who do this shit and marvel at people like yourself who can capture the beauty despite the ugliness. I think your art and post is beautiful and pointed. Keep up the great work!
Wow! Hey thank you very much @wwf, coming from a writer as talented as yourself, I really appreciate that.
I was also moved by your post today, it was such a great read. I’m looking forward to your future work. I forgot to respond to your Matthew verse, I love it! Have a look at Proverbs 5:21 if you have a minute!
Thank you!
