Saddest truth about smart peoples
Having spent considerable time around very smart people and observed how their intelligence can affect social gatherings, the unfortunate realities are:
Smart people unwittingly push others away, usually the ones who don’t have the time or patience to listen.
In all likelihood the smart ones will experience greater frustration and loneliness. Meeting somebody who “gets” them is more often a result of blind luck than careful preparation.
Smart individuals are subject to jealousy in the workplace, which isn’t the best place to build healthy relationships.
Being smart is a no-win situation in school. Teachers and classmates will love or hate them and it’s not pleasant either way.
If you’re logical, well-spoken, and appear to know a lot about a particular subject, others could perceive you as arrogant. If you keep to yourself, you’re thought of as pretentious or unfriendly.
Smart people overanalyze the past and it’s not a great habit.
Because they are different, even special in some way. Less than honorable people find a way to take advantage of that. Parents, co-workers, friends, anyone.
Happiness is elusive when the mind is always spinning.
