RE: SmartCash guide for CPU mining
Frustrated with your results. I was hoping it would be like cryptonight where cpu is still somewhat useful. I have no access to gpus but trying to save enough so that I can mine smartcash.
You can mine Bytecoin or Karbowanec to buy SmartCash. Difficulty is low and cryptonight algo.
I am doing that on minergate. Currently 20 BCN a day. With all the fees from minergate and hitbtc, it takes about 4 days to earn 1 smartcash. But I can't trade until I earn enough to buy 100 smartcash. That would take more than a year to do at the current rate. Not to mention I got a bigger electricity bill coming in this month :( I will look into Karbowanec. It just seems not ideal to mine smartcash at all.
You might as well write a post about SMART here on Steemit and somebody will tip you SMART with the @smartbot
yes I have done a couple. That is what got me interested in it in the first place. I wanted to do a mining article but after hearing how others do it on their discord channel I feel ashamed to even post about mining. Thanks.
Yeah mining is becoming increasingly harder to do and also increasingly terrible for the environment, so I'm hoping that people switch to Proof of Stake soon like STEEM and lots of other great cryptos.
I though Steem still needed people to run their computers to create the blockchain. Authoring and curating posts, no? But yes they would use less electricity than proof of work. Yet there is resources in this world for crypto and I think both stake and work can combine together to generate more interesting in mining crypto. The stage is set for crypto to rise, and if in fact one is better than the other process so be it. I have no quam with either of them. Personally I would do both at the same time if I could because that way I could earn more. I think many feel the same way ;)
Steem is Delegated Proof of Stake and is kinda of a mix between POS and POW. Not the best explanation but the way it seems to me is that the average user is allowed to Stake (Steem POWER) and then people can, if they want to, be a witness and essentailly MINE with their computers and servers. You can be a Steemian and a Witness but it's a lot harder to be a witness.
Yes witness I agree is difficult. Seems like steem is a perfect compromise. I am on it daily since September so no holding me back. Definitely not a good writer but like to stick my little nose into places. Sometimes I have a little regret but hey most of the time its been fun meeting and talking to other steemians such as yourself.
