Nairobi - Malaika boys

in #society6 hours ago

Many children and boys are living in Nairobi centre, along the streets.
They are alone, sent here by their family (living out of Nairobi city), to earn some money, and then losing all contact with their family.

They are invisible, living on the margins of society.
Sometime police kill someone of them, by night, without a reason.
At night, police enters in the park where women and children sleep, to rape them.

If you survive at policemen, you risk every night to be killed by other clans men.
They sleep together. During night, there is always someone to keep watch their friends.
They are hungry, they have no jobs, no houses, and Kenyan authorities say that they don't make Nairobi look good.

Many boys are drugs addicted, and this is paradoxically a good thing, because they feel less hungry.

Mailaka is a foundation operating here to give them another opportunity of life, a possibility to join their family again, to give them something to eat, to make them feel the warmth of a hug, and that someone still loves them.
