These ten years of Ethereum align with my eighth year in crypto—
Through market cycles and shifting narratives, I've ridden the 2017 ICO wave, the 2020 DeFi resurgence, the 2021 bull market peak, and weathered the LUNA crash, FTX collapse, and countless "ETH is dead" nights.

This eighth year proved most testing: Ethereum FUD saturated the space, shaking even staunch believers.
Yet paradoxically, the criticism only solidified my conviction. I judge not by hype, but by fundamentals and positioning.

Step 1 (July 2014): Launched at ¥1.86, traded between ¥1.4-4 for a year. Most early holders sold at break-even or loss.
Step 2 (August 2015): Surged to ¥23 (12×), triggering profit-taking. By November, crashed to ¥2.7 (–90%). Over 90% sold at loss. One whale dumped 100,000 ETH at ¥10-20—today worth billions. Could you have held through 2016?
Step 3 (2016): Rollercoaster year. Peaked at ¥98 (+36×) in March—few remained. Plunged to ¥45 in April ("ETH scam!"), then ¥138 (June), ¥54 (August), ¥92 (September), ¥38 (December). Holding 100k ETH? I couldn't—trading cost me in 2016.
Step 4 (2017): Foundation solidified. Hit ¥350 by March (+9× in 3 months). Chinese ICO frenzy erupted, projects issuing tokens on Ethereum. Dominance cemented. June: ¥2,660 (+70× in 6 months); July dip to ¥850 (–78%); rebounded to ¥2,520 (October), ¥3,280 (November), ¥7,510 (December); peaked ¥9,100 (January 2018).

Three-year summary: 4,900× growth. But the journey continued.

Step 5 (2018): Bear market purge: ¥9,000 → ¥2,280 (–75%) by March; recovered to ¥5,380 (April); crashed to ¥1,070 (September, –88%); bottomed at ¥525 (December, –90%).
Step 6 (2019–Mar 2020): June 2019: ¥2,350; December: ¥720; COVID crash to ¥550 (–88%). ETH ignored until DeFi revival propelled it to ¥5,720.
Step 7 (May 2021): Reached ¥28,000—15,000× in under six years. Holding required steel nerves.

As I've always maintained:

Crypto wealth builds through mining and hodling.
Wealth vanishes fastest chasing projects or leveraging.

Bull or bear, only steadfast holders survive. Monumental gains demand not genius, but unwavering patience.

That viral piece anchored my ETH conviction. Now, the USD continuation:

Step 8 (2022–Present)

2022 delivered Ethereum's historic milestone: The Merge. Transitioned from PoW to PoS, slashing energy use 99%—mining ended, deflationary narrative began. "Bitcoin is digital gold, Ethereum is finance's future" became the mantra.

Yet markets didn't surge—LUNA and FTX crises struck, plunging ETH from $3,500 to $1,100. Another brutal correction, another faith test.

This time, I held firm.

I recognized ETH transcends speculation—it's financial innovation's bedrock. Powering stablecoins, DeFi, RWA, restaking, and AI-chains, it anchors every major narrative. With the most developers, widest adoption, and richest ecosystem, it reigns as the protocol king.

Criticize its fees, performance, or fragmented L2s—yet capital, confidence, and asset flows consistently return to Ethereum as the settlement layer.

In this eighth year, I remain—still accumulating ETH.

2023 unleashed fresh FUD waves. Detractors claimed ETH couldn't outperform alts, lamented gas fees and governance, bet everything on Solana, AI-chains, or the "next ETH," even whispered "ETH could be next LUNA."

Social media echoed: "Ethereum is dead." Yet I persisted, articulating ETH's logic, value, and vision.

Because Ethereum's worth lies not in hype, but as the global financial operating system:

Stablecoins: Hundreds of billions in USDT/USDC reside on Ethereum-compatible chains.
DeFi: ~80% of TVL denominated in ETH.
RWA, AI, Restaking, Layer2—all narratives culminate on Ethereum.
It's capital's final destination, the narrative anchor, the most secure base layer.

When Ethereum FUD peaks, I find calm conviction.

As I once wrote:
