Inspiration in this dark phase
Against the backdrop of the cultural strife in Europe, the political agony in the US, and the empty shelves in Venezuela, it's encouraging to note that things are not as dark as they would appear. We're so much closer than people realize, to a stupendous leap forwards as a species.
SpaceX is monthly making progress towards establishing a 2nd home for Humanity on Mars, Juno just swung into orbit around Jupiter and 3 different companies are gearing up to mine near-earth asteroids for their civilization-changing bounty.
Go outside this evening, gaze towards the stars, and be encouraged. We're almost there...
Thanks for the sincere reminder @daowisp. Yeah, it is too easy to get caught up in the 'fear porn' on your facebook feed. Maybe Steemit can be a more positive community with it's attentions focused forward, building freedom. That's my hope.

And here's hoping that Fort Galt will help incubate some of the progress. The maker movement has really encouraged me...the dream of a network of open source Skunkworks efforts pushing the curve higher is pretty inspirational.
