Anybody know how to write a bot to delete comments by this account?

in #spam7 years ago

The posting key is public. If someone knows how to whip up a quick bot that will automatically delete comments from this account then the spam will stop. Or at least dissappear quickly.

heres the way you can do it.

You don't set up a bot to delete comments, you change the.masses account auth.

make it

the.masses posting key weight 1
timcliff weight 1
threshold 2.

Then you write a bot for tim to co-sign all OPs automatically, but just ignore the comments. you won't have to delete them theyll just never appear

edit:

or

the masses public posting key weight 1
the masses secret posting key weight 1
threshold 2

Tim would obv run a bot to cosign OPs with the secret posting key, but he could also give it out to other anonymity minded indivuduals to divest himself of veto power.

This also solves the potential problem (not encountered yet afaik) of the.masses self editing posts if someone doesnt like whats posted. Since the bot could ignore edits as well.

Sweet idea! Thanks :)

It may not be possible. I don't think deleting comments happens on the blockchain level. I will write it for you if someone can assure me there is a functionality for it.

It is possible to delete them in the sense that they won't appear on the web site, but as you say they can't be removed from the blockchain

It is possible to delete them in the sense that they won't appear on the web site

IIUC, even this is impossible once they are voted on. Even when the delete option remained on the website after it was voted on (it disappears now) it produced an error.

Seems like making them not appear on the website would be good enough.

What would I use for that in python/steem/piston libraries?

I tried changing an existing script from .vote to .delete or .delete_comment but it didn't work. I don't know if it is in the python libraries or not. I couldn't figure it out without spending more time on it than I want to at the moment.

I haven't looked carefully at how comment deleting works. I'd suggest deleting a comment and then looking at the tx on the blockchain to see what it actually does.

Can the creator of it change the password?

Neat. Sounds like I found a new bot client.

I'm sorry for what happens to you, I do not know how much they bother you, but to foolish ears, these things are killed with ignorance, I hope you find the solution you're looking for, dear friend, @ the.masses

It will be great if you will do that!
