I get it, he is mad at Bernie and while I don't condone flagging small accounts into silence, @fulltimegeek hammering regular users is a terrible tactic.

He seems to have pulled off of my account, but not before I went on trending and commented on some post to share the joy.

Funniest thing was when a top 50 witness decided to chew me out for FTG's spam on a post. I made one comment FTG made 2250. I haven't been able to user steemit.com, steemworld is still crashing on me, but I was the one being rash?

Steem is a strange world. I can't see how we grow new users like this.

Well, it's important that these things are stress tested. :P Now we know that they need to be patched.

One solution would be a small cost per comment/post but I’m guessing it’d hurt new users a lot more than spammers

Trying to help spread the word, but @steempeak seems to have already come up with a solution to the spam.

Not trying to spam your posts markymark, but just trying to make others aware they can still easily read your posts by just using a different interface.

It is sad that Steemit.com handles it the worst of all the UIs. Even when you mute users it causes other issues. Steempeak does do a great job handling this sort of thing.

I'm noticing the same! I wonder what they did. Anyway, much better without that awful spam.

Sharks are awesome!
I see them all the time, here on the East Coast US.
Check out ocearch.com and follow your fave sharks!
Katherine was tagged near me. Few others too

I was saying to @hobo-media's post about steem being LinkedIn not Facebook, that no professionals or businesses would come rushing to steem when anyone can spam both wallets and comments/posts and the parent-author has no say over it, because who would want to open themselves up to being associated with spam, immutable spam. Clearly we need to have both a blacklist and a whitelist for who can respond to posts and comments. Freedom of association comes with the choice to not be associated with whomever you wish for whatever reason you choose. We don't have freedom of association here.

We have come to the point where the steemit.com ui needs to have a feature added where the original poster can silence/delete comments.

Or at the very least have moderators that can remove spam posts from steemit.com.

Or outright ban people from the website.

There's no reason for this nonsense to go on.

Very good.

I’m starting to get timeout 504 errors on Steemit. It’s been a while since I’ve had issues. Loading is also much slower.

Makes me wonder what this has done to the RC costs and how it’s impact the smaller accounts if any.

The blockchain and its inability to protect itself from basic flooding if someone willing to pay to play is sad.

That seems to only affect Steemit.com. Good thing we have other access points.

I believe the public have the message by now.

Will anything be done about this spam, or will large stakeholders continue to get away with it like has been the case in the past?

It's actually a new message. Did you read the post?
He is creating more comments daily than 1.5 million user accounts.

And that's only factoring in @animalcontrol & @exterminator, not his alts or any of the trolls.

Yes I read the post.

It is a lot of messages. Are you afraid of sharks?

I think so, but feeling OK about them whilst on dry land, where I am a lot of the time.

Yeah, I'm fine on land too, but damn that Sharknado shit has me worried.

Dude, watch out for sneaky landsharks!

or a Sharknado. Have they really made 7 of those?!

Haven’t seen a single one. I hear they scary though.

I wonder if Steemit now believes what I said when the RC system was introduced, that it's unbalanced and needs to be adjusted. Bot accounts should not be able to do this. It's one thing if a huge stake holder were able to do it with their personal account, but it's happening with a bunch of relatively small accounts.

Jesus! Those spam comments are getting paid well enough to out shout most users. It sucks but when someone with that much invested in Steem attacks Steem there’s not much you can do.
