La gracilidad de una gacela Con un aspecto un tanto aristocrático, el Basenji, un perro equilibrado, animado e inteligente, presenta una constitución liviana y huesos delgados, así como largas extremidades en relación con la longitud del cuerpo. Con aire altivo, las orejas erguidas se yerguen en la cabeza arrugada, sobre el cuello, bien arqueado. El pecho, profundo, asciende hasta el flanco, bien definido, y la cola presenta una marcada enroscadura. En su conjunto, este perro, bien proporcionado, tiene la gracilidad de una gacela.
