Reading could be considered one of the primary causes of the issue prior to screens. Do you feel that activity involves emotional factors that we're not addressing?
As a child, that activity certainly did for me.
The other thing I've noticed is that my eyesight improves and worsens, improves and worsens. Sometimes, it suddenly improves. It has to do with something on the level of the soul/spirit which is too lengthy to write about here.
