THOUGHTS
Let me make it clear to you that God is always speaking to us. From the story of Samuel, we can see clearly that God keeps calling for our attention. But instead of turning to God, we turn to other authorities. Sometimes, we turn to human beings rather than God. The moment Samuel gave a listening ear to God, he heard God. Now, you might be asking, “Does God really speak to me?” The answer is yes. God does speak to everyone. The emphasis today is for us to shift attention to God. Shift attention from social networks, from your phones, from your television, from your friends and focus on God. Speak Lord for your servant is listening, is the prayer that we need to say today. We must be interested in hearing God’s voice. We must be interested in reading the word of God, in meditating, in encountering God more. The fact remains that it is the authority you listen to that you will hear from.
