Late Night Thoughts: Discipline Is The Key To Freedom!

It's counter intuitive, but the more disciplined you are, the more freedom you will find.

Discipline Is Key

For the last few weeks I've been feeling like I've been operating on auto pilot. I wake up, go to work, and occupy the rest of my time on Netflix or Youtube. I'm not terribly mad at how I'm living my life because it's pretty stress free right now and my weekends have been a lot of fun!

The only issue is that my life style has made me pretty lazy and unconcerned. So much so, that I've been late to work everyday for the last month and a half, and haven't been nearly as active in the hobbies that have brought me so much joy like interacting with my friends on Steemit.

Even though I have a good idea on why I'm making the choices that I am, but my rational mind hasn't won many battles over my emotions as of recent. It wasn't until a few days ago that I randomly started to think about my future as a dental student, and how unprepared I am to start school, as far as my habits.

After days of navigating through my mind with no direction in sight, I came to the concussion that I need to establish a list of principles that I commit to everyday, that will help me reach my true potential.

Rome Wasn't Build In A Day

Fortunately for me, I am not building a city, but rather a list of rules to live by. That being said, I figured I would start off small and commit to breaking one habit at a time, the first being my recent addiction to showing up fashionably late to work.

My biggest issue is that I never wake up during the first alarm and smash that snooze button, so starting this morning I committed to jumping out of bed once the alarm went off! Ok, I might has hit the snooze once, but I was out of bed way earlier than normal, and was only 5 mins late instead of 20 mins!

My goal is to constantly avoiding the urge to hit the snooze and get up earlier and earlier, so I can establish a better habit of being prompt. I'll let you know how it works out tomorrow morning, until next time this has been a message from your friendly neighborhood #spiderblogger!

I do that, too sometimes

I pledge myself guilty at times as well

what helped me kliiing the snooze button was a good morning routine I was enjoying and really looking forward to.

Or being addicted to world of warcraft :-)

Haha I never knew you were part of the WOW fateful!

Yeah I definitly need to get a good morning routine in! Might need to bring the PS4 upstairs and try and finish one of the many games I have in the vault 🙄!

Think the first quote sums it up all quite nicely.

If you're disciplined you can set any other area in your life in order, wether it be health, business or relationships. Fundamental building block to anything you want I would say.👍🏼
