Should We Pay Tithes?

in #spirituality8 years ago

Either watch the video, or read below... :)

When I was a Mormon, I was told that paying my tithes would help the community, help me, and help my spiritual life. Now that I actually read the bible on the subject, I see a different reality...

In OT times, the tithe was given to the priest as they did the duties of their order. But now that this OT law is fulfilled, we see another reality come into play.

Paul says, "...do not muzzle the ox who treads out the corn..." He is talking about humans, because he clearly says that is what it is about. But what is being said is that the Overseer is to be paid his wages when he works.

This is not only about overseers, but the 7 deacons as well. Since they are taking care of every need in the congregation, helping the Bishop/Overseer/Pastor, they too receive everything they need because they are doing the work needed to be done.

This is their job. They are to do this job until death. Neither an overseer or a deacon is to work a secular job because they are needed in the congregation to do the work the Almighty has given them.

Thank you for reading...
