Exopolitics and Buddhism or UFOs and Dharma
An approximate definition of Exopolitics would be "that discipline which deals with possible political, cultural, moral and/or spiritual relations between humans and intelligent extraterrestrial beings".
In the contemporary world there is a wide debate on the fact or fiction of this discipline, which is not without controversy by the profound consequences that could have a widespread acceptance. The arguments come and go: some in favor and those against, as it has always been throughout the history of mankind before any paradigm shift. The accepted sciences gather a considerable group of sceptics around this subject, but also in them converge more and more voices that support the possibility of intelligent life on other planets and consequently the need to be Prepared as "planetary civilization" for the encounter. In addition, it is necessary to point out that there are organized systems of wisdom related to the knowledge of the alien phenomenon, which seem to bring a considerable advantage to the current and formally accepted sciences. Among such systems of wisdom and/or belief, Buddhism appear: a philosophical and religious (non-theistic) doctrine comprising a wide variety of traditions and practices where it is true that "cosmology" is not the center of attention, but in the vastness of its Literature —Yes— there are clear references to topics such as "The Origin of the world" and "this and other universes" (...)
The prestigious Harvard University Professor Jhon E. Mack reveals —in a set of videos recorded at the end of the last century— (XX century) The impressions of the Dalai Lama (the highest authority of Tibetan Buddhism in the world) on the UFO phenomenon and its acceptance by part of the Buddhist teachings. In Buddhism it is believed that the universe (as well as everything that integrates it) is mind (...) and in this unique mind are given infinite manifestations of different types or forms of intelligence. In other words, the universe is consciousness and it is brimming with life! Then I quote Mack's words: "His Holiness has had contact with other beings but not in this way but as a consciousness that the universe is full of life. When I was with him, he categorized life in the universe in three ways: beings like us who have form and body, who have form but have no body, and the third, beings that have no form or body."
Although for some these words can be the result of mere speculation or faith, it is necessary to point out that Buddhism is not a simple belief system, but a proven mechanism of methods that have served humanity for the development of itself for more than 2,500 years. Several examples are supported by the most avant-garde foundations of modern physics, among other disciplines.
