Is Watching Movies A Sin?
The movies we watch do play a role in once life either the positive role or the negative role and the continuous watching of it will leads to addiction which means irresistible to watching movies.
In the aspect of once mentality, it changes once mentality causing one to see life in a way that is not encouraged or not pleasing.
1 John 2:15-16 Love not the world, nor the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
Here the bible talks about the lust of eye which you have to do with watching movies, the. Continuous watching of ungodly movies affirms a wrong mindset or which you can call it wrong thinking which goes down to giving rise to a bad attitude or behavior. Now you can see what the love of watching movies can do.
Let's look at a scenario where the actors or the lady actor is a lesbain so what does the movie encourage lesbianism which is against the teachings of Jesus Christ. That's why If you notice nowadays, the movies they display does not encourage righteous living.
2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
Christians are meant to be simple according to the word of God like wise their mindset are also meant to be simple too. When an ungodly movie enters the mindset of such Christain it now affects the behavior and the way the Christain thinks even in terms of his language.
In conclusion there are things that will be occupied which are reading the word of God, when you read the word of God it Builds your faith the more, reads book that are being authored by great men. When you have a leisure time for movies listen to documentaries or as well watch preachings to uplift your spirit.
