Ottermaker now selling Beta packs for 1600 DEC

I added a new feature to the bot today - it will now sell you Beta packs - or more specifically BETA tokens - directly for DEC, currently for 1600 DEC apiece. This probably needs more of a tutorial since it can't be done within the game. You'll have to use your active key on Steem-Engine.com a couple of times to turn DEC into packs.

In the DEC wallet in the game you'll choose how much DEC you want to send to your Steem-Engine wallet and click "Transfer Out." Then go to https://steem-engine.com/?p=balances and sign in to see your Steem-Engine wallet. On the right side there will be a right-pointing arrow to send tokens, click that and send however many DEC you want to @ottermaker.

Once you've sent the DEC, the Ottermaker bot will send you one pack for every 1600 DEC, and change if it's needed. So you can send 1600 DEC for one pack, or 4800 DEC for three packs, or if you randomly send 8563 DEC you'll get five packs and 563 DEC back. This is a little bit slower than the cards bot because the Steem-Engine API is a little slower than the Splinterlands API; please give it 30 seconds.

What you get is BETA tokens in your Steem-Engine wallet, and in order to turn those into packs in the game there's one more step: repeat the steps for a transfer, except instead of sending DEC to me, send BETA to @steemmonsters. They'll read the token and bring them back into the game for you to open.

At the moment I'm using this as a method for turning my Seed packs into DEC - I don't have a plan for continuing once those are gone, although if it's popular enough I might be able to do some flipping later on. However, I'm starting with 1450 packs so I expect this to last a while, maybe long enough to have to change the price. I haven't found a great way to do that, but in absence of that I will announce price changes on this blog.

And of course Ottermaker is still paying 101% of the per-bcx burn value for all non-gold cards as well as gold Rewards and Promos. If you want it to take gold Betas and Alphas, one of the best ways to make that happen is to buy packs. (Another is to send it lots and lots of Reward cards.) It all depends on the account's growing DEC balance.

This is an interesting service.

I might use it. Thanks.

Sounds like that could be a good deal 🤔
