Punters & Omen bets - horses and greyhounds

Just wondering how many people seem to have successful with Omen Bets.

Personally I've had multiple horses named similar to my daughters name or nicknames I call her always come through for a win. Similar others tell me their omen bets with matching names come through too. Are we a minority or are omen bets a thing?
