Carlo Jacomuzzi, an Everton scout, confirmed that the situations of the former’s Duvan Zapata and the latter’s Carlos Bacca are “interesting”.

The talent spotter explained that Napoli’s £25million price tag on their striker is too high.

He went on to name several other targets to an Italian radio station that now look unlikely, admitting the Premier League outfit were interested in Dries Mertens and Faouzi Ghoulam.

Jacomuzzi explained that the path to Mertens was “waned” and Ghoulam wanted to remain in Naples.
