They are using the same type of "Graphene" based blockchain as Steem but other than that Scorum is totally different and stand alone. I'm still discovering what it is going to look like and how it will all work as they launch the basic structure of each section of the platform. As with all of the other projects, adoption will be key for Scorum's success, but they have already made several partnerships with existing fan clubs and they are building a nice support base. Like Steemit it doesn't cost you anything to get started and try it out. As with anything new and different I'm expecting a slow start with some minor glitches, but there is no doubt that the project has a huge amount of potential. The selling point for me was the underlying blockchain, which we already know is a very solid, fast and stable way to store and transfer value without the problems of scaling and fees that many of the other projects face.

Very interesting, I'm a huge sports fan, but have not done any sport related posts yet, I might join Scorum and post there for any sports stuff... The name is a bit unfortunate though!! Sounds a bit like something else that rhymes with hall sag.... :o)

You're right about the name and they have caught some flak for it, some of which was from me. Maybe being able to make a joke out of it will be a good thing. 😉
