Which Popular Brand Logo Does This Fight-Ending Cut Resemble?

What, whoa, wait just a minute....

I was scrolling through Facebook today and I ran across this in my feed. This fight was called off due to the cut. Many people on social media were comparing this cut/gash to the Air Jordan Jumpman logo. (Thanks to Bellator, Facebook user Lucas Noonan, and Twitter user Danny Brener for the images and images.)

According to the popular MMA news site mmajunkie.com:

Friday’s Bellator 181 headliner was a thriller – one that ended with an oddly shaped cut to one fighter’s forehead. In the Spike-televised main event at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Okla., Derek Campos (19-6 MMA, 8-4 BMMA) took the 2-1 lead in his trilogy with Brandon Girtz (14-7 MMA, 6-5 BMMA) after scoring a second-round TKO stoppage win in the 158-pound catchweight fight.

Hopefully Derek is doing ok and has a speedy recovery. It sucks he lost this fight due to TKO and lost the lead in the trilogy fight, but fighter safety is the most important consideration in MMA. Looks like these two will have to have a best of 5 series to make up for a doctor stoppage. They are technically still 1-1 without the third fight ending by doctor stoppage.

Obviously this was a very bad cut and became very messy, very quickly. Do you think the doctor's stoppage was necessary here, even though the fighter wanted to continue the bout? Sound off in the comments below!

I'll be watching this next fight when they run it back. Until next time...
