Africa Cup Of Nations(AFCON) 2019: Quarter Finals Fixtures

The drama in the Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON) 2019 continues to the quarterfinals and we hope it will be an exciting one to watch!!

There has been a lot of shockers in the recently concluded round of 16 games where we saw high profile teams including Egypt leaving the tournament!!

We saw a lot of disappointments whereby most high profile teams were eliminated by small teams or debutants in the tournament.

I will just mention a few of the games that caught my attention in this round of 16 games

There was Madagascar(debutants) beating DR Congo on penalties, we also had the hosts Egypt losing to South Africa after having a 100% record in the group stages.

There was more drama as Cameroon the defending champions were knocked out by Nigeria. in a thrilling game that had five goals scored!!

Quarter Final Game 1:Senegal Vs Benin

We have Benin who contained high flying Morocco for 120 minutes and later knocked them out taking a Senegal side that survived my team Uganda..

I have to admit that Senegal was not really sharp as many expected them to be, they did use their chances though.

I expect this to be a tough game and I am all excited to watch it tomorrow.

This game will be played tomorrow 10/07/2019 at 19:00 EAT at 30 June Stadium.

Quarter Final Game 2:Nigeria Vs South Africa

This another great game as the two teams that caused shock in the round of 16 come face to face..!We remember that Nigeria knocked out Cmaeroon the defending champions and also South Africa knocked oout Egypt the hosts..

What an exciting game this will be hehehe.

This will be the second game of the quarterfinals and it will also be played tomorrow 10/07/2019 at 22:00 EAT at Cairo International Stadium.

Quarter Final Game 3 : Ivory Coast Vs Algeria

This promises to be an exciting game at least on paper!! We have seen Algeria maintaining a 100 % record so far by winning all their group games and also demolishing Guinnea in their round of 16 game.

We also see on the other hand a resurgnet Ivory Coast who struggled through their group games ,but have won two consecutuve games so far in the tournament.

We have already seen shockers in the round of 16, maybe we shall see more here!!

The game will be played on Thursday 11/07/2019 at 19:00 EAT at New Suez Stadium.

Quarter Final Game 4 : Madagascar Vs Tunisia

This game has a debutant (Madagascar) against Tunisia who were 2004 champions.

Madagascar have perfomed so far very well given the fact that it is their first appeareance in the tournament.
These folks schocked the footballing world when they beat Nigeria by two goals in their last group game and they even made more news when they knocked out DR Congo on penalties in the the round of 16 game.

Tunisia has struggled in this tournament as they made only draws from their group games and then beat Ghana yesterday5:4 on penalties.

This seems to be a shocker as Madagascar might continue their winning form or Tunisia to produce an outstanding performance in the competition!!!

This game will be played on Thursday 11/07/2019 at 22:00 EAT at Al-Salam Stadium Cairo.
