I don't know why but I've never really fully taken cultural events into play when considering a player's performance. I'm definitely going to be more aware of this now when I look at player's stats.
9 Story is a kind of superstition, similar to having fun.
I think Ryu Hyunjin has more than 10 wins and I believe he will win 10 wins in the next game.
