Modric says he's not surprised by Ronaldo's absence last night

The Croatian said he wasn't surprised a the absence of the Portuguese from the prestigious show.
Luka Modric was the favored one as he clinched the award for the best player of last season"s Champions league.
The player was crucial to Real Madrid winning their third consecutive Champions league trophy.
The Croatian said he's sorry that Ronaldo wasn't there and said he knew the Portuguese had his reasons but would have loved to see him again.
Modric thanked his fans and those who voted for him, his club and teammates. He said that this season was the best for his career, collectively and as an individual.
