The former Arsenal player has called on the former German international to rise and prove critics wrong.

Ozil has endured a really turbulent summer that started just before the world cup where he was caught on photograph with Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

This triggered a backlash from fans of Germany and they began to criticize the player. It climaxed when Germany where knocked out of the world cup shockingly after they had been tipped to retain the title.

Many will still remember how that as Ozil made it to the tunnel, many fans stood waiting for him and began a scuffle which the player returned. This eventually led to the player calling it quit with the Germany national team on the basics of racism and disrespect for what he's achieved for and with them.

Since then, Ozil has seeked and found solace with Arsenal.
Ian Wright, speaking to OmniSport, said that the onus is on Ozil now to prove his critics wrong. He said the player had to do all to improve way better than last season where he scored just four times in 26 matches.

Ian Wright himself played for the Gunners between 1991 and 1998

Ozil came to Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013 and has won three FA cups in five seasons.

The club has lost their first game under Emery Unai against Manchester City and travel next to West London where they will lock horns with the blues.
