I do not qualify for participation in the #spud4steem event because I did not get a post made prior discussing spud.
I've been busy and it slipped my mind until I saw @georgemales's 501 Steem power up.
I still wanted to participate anyway to show my support to the Steem ecosystem, but more importantly, the Steem family!
And I encourage any and all who may see this post to power up and make a post about it.
I will keep it brief because I'm very busy with some things.

I am still not sure what is this spud4Steem is supposed to do.
I power up as and when I have some - not that I have a lot to get excited about. :-)
The basic principle behind it, is to lock up Steem into the ecosystem, because it has a positive impact for the value.
Prizes are incentives for participating.
Even small power ups are encouraged.
For the next one I will probably make an announcement post. Every month these run.

It's why those curation snipers upset me so much.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean, but with my experience, curation snipers are a thing, especially with autos. I utilize a mixed auto/manual strategy, to make ROI on leases, yet my efficiently will decrease more and more everyday. I don't bother to manually check for snipers, because what is the point? I am trying to find out who is sniping me for a few cents? It's not even worth the time for me.
I am not sure what your arrangement is as a curator, but do you make anything for your effort(s)?

It is a chore, but only in a first world problem kind of way.
It is a lot of steem riding on that account never making it to 100%.
I forget, exactly, but I think it is in excess of 10usd an hour.
I have been well compensated in the past and have no expectations for the future.

I blocked a person who messaged me with a hello and nothing more, because this is common behavior for spammers,and after the hello, I said hello and there was no response.
I messaged the discord account again and have heard nothing back. This is confusing and irritating.
