NEED FOR A WAKE

This World is a desirous one. The easiest thing to be in this world is "yourself" but we find it so difficult to do because we always tend to become or be behave like others... This is a young man Henry telling us his story.

I could remember he says, during my Fourth year 2012 before embarking on my IT in UNN, I needed a laptop desperately so I can use it to prepare for my project so I decided to get a brand new Laptop.

Unfortunately for me I don't have enough cash on me. My good friend suggested I should buy a fairly used (tokumbo) one but I refused insisting on buying the one that will worth at least 100,000 naira or I won't buy again. "Henry, I said to myself, why must you insist on buying a new laptop when you have enough to get a fairly used one which sometimes is even better than the so called new ones?".

Then two years later, after I have earned enough even to buy the new laptop was off my plan. I bought a fairly used one and its serving me till date. I was just thinking my head off this morning over getting things right this year and I then asked myself "what made you to insist on buying a brand new laptop way back 2012 and after some years past when you have earned enough, you then went for a fairly used?

Now to be sincere, the reason for the act that I just explained above might marvel you. Sincerely, I do wanted a brand new laptop because almost all the student in my class are using new laptops, well I might be too ambitious for thirst of quality but in this scenario I can't afford it then.

To my greatest surprise, I later discovered that they are using fairly used ones but they packaged it well and that was how I lost some marks in my project. But this kind of "Wanting to be like others" is mostly found in women.Sometimes men don't care but ladies will always like to be noticed and praised for their deeds and appearance.

Most people have ended up badly because they want to be like others. Even in the media, presenters are always showcasing to us the latest designs, latest spectacles, Brazilian hair, latest cosmetics to give you a glimsing look...Oh gosh, and these put our "Sidon dey watch" Ladies under pressure to have the latest because anyone with the latest is labeled a BIG GIRL.

See my dear friends, if you ca afford those goodies, very fine and wonderful, but if you can't, be patient enough with yourself and be you because years later you can afford it even more. Most ladies misunderstood the concept termed BIG GIRL.

The fact that you wear he latest design in town or put up luxurious cosmetics does not make you a big girl, different men taking you out on a Friday night to different club on expensive cars does not make you a big girl, Then your mind will be pounding now who is then a Big Girl?, a BIG GIRL is one who respects womanhood,a girl with enough thinking faculty in her, a girl who always respects her relationship and marriage, a virtuous personality with dignity. As my friend fondly say that cheap articles attracts more buyers...*smiles.

I will just say to you with this few words, build yourself into a woman other people will admire and respect. Be a woman of dignity, godly and hard working. Always respect your marriage and relationship. Don't make men your priority, take time and build yourself they will come looking for you.
