Jokowi Says Indonesia Needs Many Startups

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) assessed that the changes that occur now can only be answered by young people, but not just any young people.

According to Jokowi what is needed is young people who are proficient in the field of technology. Young people who are proficient in technology can give birth to startup or startup companies.

"Are young people enough? We need young talents in the field of technology, so that more startups, technology-based startups will be born," Jokowi said in a video that was played as the opening act at the Thinkubator event at the Trans Media Building Jakarta, Friday (29 / 3/2019).

According to Jokowi, startups are necessary because they can provide solutions to social problems that are the government's concern.

"Why do startups need to, because they provide solutions to social problems and issues that are of concern to the government," he said.

Examples of problems in the transportation, logistics, and health sectors. Therefore, Jokowi welcomed the finalists in the Thinkubator. He hopes, the company can continue to grow.
