How much time does a Successful Startup take?

in #startup7 years ago (edited)

Ever thought of how long it would take for your idea or any venture to get up and running? I took the liberty of dividing to 2 phases:

- 2-3 years of Planning phase

- 3-5 years of Struggle phase

Those 2 3 yrs of time you first decide to act on is what I call the planning phase. For smart people, they usually take their necessary time before getting on to phase 2. Normal people can take up to 2-3 years of developing the idea seed, germinating it and growing it ready for the second phase. This includes  everything from analysis, planning, team forming, business plan proposals to goals envisioning  and Call for Action. Its how you plan and take on responsibilities at this phase, that determines the ease of time throughout the struggle phase.
Your motivation, will to get things done, approach you decide to take to get things done are all vital elements you build on during this phase. Just consider of this phase as, powering up your will, building motivation, tuning your mental and psychological psyche, armoring your idea, gearing up with plans and goals. Then you've build yourself into something like The Ironman lol.. Well you get the idea.. Being smart, and if you're not, don't be alarmed, you can teach yourself to be smart, the thing is, Being Smart helps get things done that would usually have normal people stuck at most points. Prep yourself into a version that get things done.
Then there's the Struggle phase, where startup entrepreneurial minded people often share common hate on, the struggle. But this struggle is embraced as a necessary element responsible for the growth in oneself and his idea. If you can't get enough of 6 hours a sleep each day, If you can't make time to do anything extra, If you become alienated from the social interactions, or If you find yourself in a difficult spot to make your ends met, don't be alarmed.   Welcome to the Struggle Phase. Everything will most likely go against you during the whole phase. And its nothing new. People who've achieved great and remarkable feats have all filled in that shoe.
There's one character Might Guy from Naruto anime I want to talk of. This normal kid, without any special ability, or any sort of capability in his genes to become a ninja, ends up being one of the most badass strongest characters in the whole series.

Seems like something that only happens in anime, a cliche story line right? But the thing is, he's not even in among the main characters. Just through his sheer dedication, commitment, and the will to do it, He ended up being acknowledged the Strongest, and that is something everyone could aspire from.  Well the tagline is, put in work when the youth in you still burns bright, and don't let anything stop your pace through those struggles. They're always gonna be there, so you just might Look Up Head Straight and Deal with it. Unless you're one of those guys, who have everything in their favor to get started, who're pretty much backed up to start what they want, how they want it.  You better put in work. Sounds easy to say, eh?

But trust me, one you weather through this phase, and start getting things done, and reached milestones, You'll be glad you did it.
