The Diary Game [11/12/2025] // Home Duties, Good Company and Sweet Moments.
Hi guys, accept a special compliment of the season's greetings from the motherland, Cameroon and welcome to my blog where I share my lifestyle content with you all.

I woke up this morning before the sun had fully risen, grateful that it was my off day from work. The gentle coolness of the early Cameroonian morning drifted through the window, and for a moment I just sat quietly, listening to the distant sound of roosters and the slow hum of life beginning outside. Even though I was not going to the office, the day ahead was already full, and I felt that familiar mix of calm and purpose.
My first task was getting the kids ready for school. As usual, they moved at two very different speeds, one was up instantly, full of chatter, and the other needed gentle coaxing, and a quiet reminder of the fun the day might hold. I prepared their breakfast, packed their snacks, and double-checked their homework. By the time they were dressed and ready, the sun was shining brightly. I walked them to the gate, gave them a quick hug each, and watched as they headed off with their backpacks bouncing and their voices fading into the morning as they entered the school bus.
When the house finally fell silent, I took a deep breath and looked around. It was time to clean. I put on some worship songs to keep me company and started with the living room, sweeping, dusting, resetting cushions, opening windows to let fresh air push out the stale one. I moved from room to room, feeling more accomplished with every small transformation. There is always something comforting about cleaning on a free day. It’s tiring, yes, but the kind of tired that feels earned.
Once the house was back in order, I headed to the kitchen to cook. I decided on something simple but warm, a pot of ndolé and some rice to go with it. The aroma filled the house slowly, wrapping around me like a reminder of home, tradition, and comfort. As the food simmered, I cleaned up the counters and packed away the ingredients.

I spent the early afternoon waiting for a friend who had planned to stop by. While I waited, I took a moment to rest, sipping some juice and enjoying the rare quiet. When he finally arrived, his smile instantly lifted my energy. We sat and talked for a while, catching up on family, work, and all the little things we never seem to have time for during busy weeks. His visit reminded me how refreshing good company can be.

Later, we went out together to visit another acquaintance nearby. The outing was short but pleasant, and before long the sky was shifting toward evening.

On my way back home, I picked up some local snacks, peanuts, roasted groundnuts mixed with fried corn, and a bit of chin-chin, and plantain chips knowing the kids would be excited.
When I returned, the house lit up with their joy. Their smiles made the long day worthwhile. As night settled in, I felt tired but deeply fulfilled. My off day had not been restful in the literal sense, but it was peaceful in spirit, a day of home, family, and small joys. Until my next diary, a blessed weekend for you all.
