How to cook ATAMA SOUP
Hello steemit family, so today I want to write about how I prepare one of my native food. ATAMA,with less ingredient ,we don't have to break the bank .
ATAMA is one of the native culinary in Nigeria mostly consumes by the cross rivers and akwa ibomite. So earlier today , I went to the market to get items used in preparing my food.
In the market, I bought,
1Atama
2waterleaf
3periwinkle
4melon
5clams
6creyfish
7pepper
8cowskin or Pomo
9palmoil
10seasonings
As seen in the picture

Fast-forward to how I prepair my atama soup .
Firstly I unplug my atama from the tree this is how it look like from the tree
when I was done cutting from the tree,I took it home and the plug the leafs from the sterm
this is when I was about slicing it
after plugging the leafs...I sliced it into small part and kept slicing till everything was very tiny...
after slicing it,I pour it in a bowl and I added hot water to it,I allowed and covered it for some minutes ,den used a sieve to sieve out the water .I continue washing it with cold water till,it loses it bitter taste ...

That's the Atama in a sieve.after this I set it aside and proceeds with the preparation of my clams
Clams are types of seafoods that are bivalve mollusks with hard shells that are divided into two .it's very nutritious as it's contains lots of vitamins ,it also has or contain a mega 3 ,it's also bost immunity ,.although it has a lots of health benefit and lots of nutrients,it's advisable to always cook it before consumption and also eat it in moderation..

Back to the preparation of the clam.
Firstly,I used my knife to open the mouth into two and used the same knife to bring out the clam inside of it.i continue this process till I was done removing the hard shell from it,

After removing them from the shell,I wash Dem nicely into my pot, together with my periwinkle,my proteins, cowskin,my fish and I added seasoning cubes and pepper with salt and set it on my gas cooker.i steam it on medium heat ,this process will allow all the ingredient to mix well..this is while it was on the cooker

So when I was done with my steaming,I added one cup of water to the pot,and allow to to boil,..I added my already grinded melon from the market to the pot ,added my oil and allowed it to boil

After that ,I added my already sliced water leaf inside the pot

Den wen I added it to the pot
I cover my pot and allow it to boil for minutes and den added my AtAma that was still on the sieve to the post on fire

I cover the pot and allow it boil a few minutes and added another palm oil and bring down the pot from fire.and my atama soup is ready without breaking the bank...look at the end product
I pair my delicious soup with swallow...the soup is very tasty.
Thanks so much family for reading my long write up.

Your Atama soup preparation is so detailed that I am almost perceiving its aroma from the pictures.
Its a true traditional dish that makes the Ibibio and Efik kitchen stand out, distinct from others. Such mouth watering dishes are filled with fresh nuternts and the energy needed to carry out labourous farm work.
Your kitchen skills are top-notch pa!
