STORY: how I learn sketching, doodles, and watercolor technique.
*main gantung suka hati je haha!
Hello!! it’s me again. Welcome to my another post. So today I’m going to tell a story about how I learn sketching, doodles, and watercolor technique. Oh my God this post gonna be a very long post I've ever write.. I'm sorry but i hope you enjoy :")
SKETCHES
I learn sketching from my brother’s paper work from Art Club in secondary school. I started to draw with anime, and figure’s positions in anime way. Haha I borrowed his paper work and then I follow the step. I trace the drawing then I make my own. That I was age 12 years old. In primary school, I always save some blank pages for my sketching practice. When I started to grow, I was 13, I borrowed my brother’s pens to trace the drawing I’ve drawn. That the first time I see the pen that didn’t translucent to paper and that pen are so hard to find. But now I can find these pens at any book store.
Age 14, I started to draw with my own style. I drew emo, with hair and eyeliners, clothes, and some typography, I draw at any where I want as long as it’s blank. Hahahahaha that’s my habit. Lol. I showed my drawings to my brother, my brother said “you’ve been improved” and I was so happy and I could not stop draw at that night because I get excited and I want to do it more and more.
Age 15, I am a bullied victim, the boys likes to take my file that full of paper and my drawings. I can’t focus on my subjects. The kept taking my things and take one of my drawing and torn it. I got sad and stressed. I didn’t tell my family that I get bully in school cause I’m scared if they can prove me wrong in school. I am the face of teacher’s room cause I always send help to teacher to send the books to their tables. Teachers don’t even know I got bullied until I decided to change school. My art teacher loves me so much. Because I draw well. Lol I learn how to do some shading, how to blends, how to draw portraits and many more. I’m having so much fun when art subject comes. I started to design some dresses, wedding dresses, vintage dresses, the most love 18th century’s dresses.
In the age of 16, I rarely drawing cause busy with my new school things. I got an interview to go to vocational school and be accepted by that school. I am in Fashion student. Teacher tells me if you want to be a fashion designer, you must know how to sew. So I learnt how to sew using an industry sewing machine. I have a lot of memories with sewing machine. Hahaha my finger almost get sewed by the machine cause I still can’t control the machine. I learnt how to make patterns and blocks.
Age 17, teacher ask me to design what’s in your mind’s dresses. I draw some patches of paper. Lol that’s all in my mind. Some of my roommate is fashion student. I ask them how to draw this kinda pose how to that and this. I never been ashamed to ask them about drawing or designing, they’re more to that in their class. Oh I forgot to mention. I interviewed as a skills student and my class time spend more in workshop than class. My roommate student of vocational, time spend more in class than workshop. And my classes basic subjects. We don’t have science, history, add math, physics, chemistry, biology. I don’t have that kind of subject in my class. We only have basic English, basic math, basic Islamic subject, bahasa melayu. So my SPM only Bahasa Melayu. The last batch for skills student for SPM. We have our own like SPAK (Sijil Penilaian Asas Kemahiran). I started to draw back when I finished my SPM ans SPAK, I draw back how I used to draw, and I use youtube for my online art class. I search how to that and this. My brother used to tell me that I’ve been improved ask me “you still watch “how to” eh?” and I was like. Why not? Hahahaha I ignored him. Then I started to learn how to draw 3D.. below is the first try of my 3D sketch :-
In sketches, I learn about how to this and that so, i opened youtube and search “how to draw portrait” then I click one video and I try it after watching that video. I open the new tab for google image I follow the step. Sketch below is the first time ever I do a portrait sketch
