The traffic congestion problem in the capital Dhaka has been a problem for a long time. To bring this problem under control to some extent, the metro rail has been launched. One of its important stations is the Uttara North Metro Station. It is a modern, planned and very helpful transport hub for the people located in the northern part of Dhaka.
Location and how to get there
The Uttara North Metro Station is located in the Uttara area on the north side of Dhaka, mainly near Diabari and Uttara Sector-15. It has been placed in such a place that people from different sectors of Uttara can reach here very easily. The ways to reach here are local buses, rickshaws, and many people from different sectors of Uttara also come to this station on foot, because the area is quite connected and familiar.
The Uttara North Metro Station was built as part of the first metro rail project of Dhaka. The main objective of this project was to reduce traffic congestion in the city and develop a modern and fast public transport system. The station was under construction for several years and was finally opened for passengers. Modern technology has been used during construction and international standards have been maintained. This station mainly serves as the northern terminus. Trains start or end their journey from here.
The main function of Uttara North Metro Station is to ensure passenger boarding and disembarkation, provide tickets, help control train movement, and maintain safety and discipline of passengers. Thousands of people travel to various important places in Dhaka from this station every day such as Agargaon, Farmgate, Shahbag, Motijheel, etc. The station is usually open from morning to night. Office-going people, students, and general passengers. It is an important means of communication for everyone.

1.One-time ticket
2.Smart card (Metropass)
The fare depends on the distance of the destination. Usually, the fare is less for shorter distances, and the fare is a little higher for longer distances.

★Minimum fare is about 20 taka
★Maximum fare is about 100 taka (entire route)
This fare is relatively affordable and also very effective in terms of saving time.

Uttara Uttar Metro Station has, lifts and escalators, digital display boards, automatic ticket machines, seating areas, restrooms and toilets, CCTV cameras for security, fire extinguishing systems for emergency needs and easy movement arrangements for the disabled and the elderly
The station is clean, tidy and well-planned. Here, order is maintained at every step from entry to reaching the platform.
Security measures
The safety of passengers is given utmost importance at this station. For this reason, security checks are carried out at each entrance. There is round-the-clock surveillance with CCTV cameras. Trained security personnel are on duty. There is an alarm system for emergencies. As a result, passengers feel quite safe and secure.
My personal assessment
In my view, Uttara North Metro Station is a very modern and people-friendly initiative. It saves time, makes travel easier, helps reduce traffic jams, reduces environmental pollution, and makes people's lives more comfortable. This station is not just a transportation hub, it is a symbol of Dhaka's modernity.
