SEC-S30W1: Anecdotes that teach: (I Was Hit By A Motorcycle)

Today I will like to participate in this life experience contest which is organized by @marvinvelasquez. Sharing our own story is a good thing because it will help us learn from each other so that such lessons can be useful for us.

I slept in the morning after I ate my meal because that normally occurs to me, when I woke up after 1:00 pm and that is the time for Zuhri prayer. So I didn't want to perform solat within the community, so I just wanted to go to another masjid which is a little far away and also to earn the highest reward from Almighty Allah.

The place where I am going is an express road where most of the travelers normally pass when they are going to the southwest and northern parts of the country.

When I reached that expressway, I crossed the road and performed ablution with the intention to perform prayer after prayed solat finished. I sat down for some time in order to rest for a little while. Then I rose up to go home in order to find what I could eat.

Although the road was just completed, where they used concrete for the segmentation so that people can easily cross the road, upon finishing the road, some drivers as well as motorcycle riders are stubborn to the extent that they do not pass their route, and they are passing the same lane that cars coming from the right are passing.

When I crossed one lane successfully with the hope that I will cross the other road, there was a motorcycle coming, and I did notice because I was looking at my right side when there were no more cars coming from the right as I wanted to cross the road. A motorcycle that passed through the wrong side was hit my hand with iron; I felt a sharp pain, and other passengers said that I should thank God because it is not worse than this. I do not want anybody to know because they will blame me for going far distance to pray.

The only person I told used Shea butter mixed with herbs to help me rub the affected part. It took me some days to feel normal.

Moral Lesson That I Learned

1. Ever since the thing happened, I have been extra careful to cross the road because some drivers are passing on the wrong side to reach their final destination on time.

2. To wait patiently so that moving cars and trucks can go on its own because it's an express road where some of the drivers used to take alcohol; in that case, they are not in their right senses.

3. To also observe my prayers at the nearby mosque in order to avoid unexpected motorcycle accidents. Even if I wanted to perform solat, I must wait for them to pass in order to cross successfully.
