Winning a 32 inch Tv on a Christmas party
Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing great in life; as for me I am well fining my way to something I love.
In this post, let me first tell you about me winning the grand prize on my work's Christmas party back in 2022
But let me tell you the whole story:
I seldom go out, parties are not my thing but I had to go. The day started normally, I and my coworkers still reported for work that day but we all brought extra clothes for the night's event. At four in the afternoon, my co-workers were already putting on their dresses and makeup.
I actually had a problem with mine because I don't have makeup, I do have lipstick though and I don't know what to do with my hair.
I have no one to help me and I am too shy to call for one too but I decided I would just do it anyway, even simply. So I just applied moisturizer to make my face look better and I put some lipstick on so I would not seem pale.
Travelling
At four in the afternoon, we hitched a ride from our co-workers who came from the piggery farm. They rented a van and boy, he was driving fast and I was so afraid about his driving yet I could not get down.
Along the highway, one of the tires got flat and we had to stop for him to replace it.
And it is where I saw this mangangalakal that has bought a lot of scarps and loaded them on his motorcycle sire car.
When we were moving again, I made efforts to take pictures along the road but; these aren't much but I did my best to capture them.
Arrival
Not long after, We arrived at the hotel; we had to wait for the rest of the team because only a few knew where the event would be.
I took pictures of my co-workers while waiting for them then I realized no one is willing to take my pictures, lol!
They got lovely ornaments in the lobby too!
You may think I am weird but I took a selfie on the elevator. I hated the feeling of the moving elevator, it makes me dizzy too.
It didn't take long for us to reach the seventh floor; and our area is just in front of the elevator. Easy to find.
We signed our attendance sheet and rolled our names for the raffle prizes later.
I just can't stop but admire the design on the glass, a rare sight for me.
We were the ones that are first on the set and I took pictures around.
Table settings are wonderful, and on the stage, there were lots of balloons. Bouquets made with sunflowers were on the table in preparation for the Macho gay pageant. These are just some of the random picture that I took
I took selfie wit old friends as they arrived and greeted we each other.
The program
Our boss handled five companies all offering services related to meat and egg production. I belong to the feed mill department. We make the feeds for the animals and the mega farm raises the swine and poultry. Daily fresh outlets sell the eggs and while slaughterhouse slaughters the swine. The commissary outlets sell the meat and Market City department has a grocery store and it is where the terminals of busses and jeepneys were situated. My boss is a clever man, isn't he?
The Party
The party started at 7 in teh evening after some welcome address, followed by dinner. When everyone had his fill, the macho gay pageant started and it was so funny!
I had lots of fun with the fake gays posing as one and the host cracked a lot of jokes too.
Raffle Prizes
While waiting for the contestants to change clothes and prepare themselves, raffle drawings were held. A lot of the invitees did not go to the party so everyone can receive a raffle prize.
I was just chilling on my chair when they noticed that every name rolled on the fish bowl was called except mine.
I got excited at that time but I secured myself that I should not build false hope and hurt myself. I even covered a video of the host calling my name for the grand prize.
I was very happy and tears of joy rolled out my eyes. Finally, I brought home the TV
Last December 2019, my name was called for the grand prize but then I went home early because I was afraid I will have no ride home. It hurt me a lot, the TV was then given to another co-worker.
Have you won a on a raffle draw before? I swear the fun and joy is another level! I really hope to win each year but things don't go my way and since 2023 up until 2025, I haven't won any prizes during the Christmas raffle draws; perhaps it is other people's turn ti win and I will have mine when the time is right.
