A Night to Remember — Life After School with Friends

Okay. I won't lie; life after school has been great but very expensive unless you have something doing that gives you money on a daily basis. Those friends you had in school won't be as reachable as they were while you were in school. You'll be missing some moments with them because you guys are now apart with different goals and mindsets. So I decided to meet up with my crazy friends for a sit-out. We created a group to be meeting at a joint every month, and we've been keeping up with this.

The friendships you keep in school don't end when you're done with school. Some people part ways and make new friends, but I don't do that. It's difficult to create a new friendship with someone who you just met when you've had a solid friendship with people for years. It's just the parting of ways that makes it difficult to meet, but it shouldn't end a friendship that has been made over years. So long-distance friendship works even after school.

I usually visit them in their house or they come to mine or we meet at a joint. So this month, we decided to meet together in a joint at night to unwind. Before the said date, we had financial plans on what to spend, who would be in attendance, and what activities would be carried out. These included

• A full dog

• Palm wine

• 5 chickens and spirits

This is what we planned before the said date, and it happens we had an event that day which included all of us. So after the event at night, we gathered there and chased away our immediate problems in enjoyment and merriment. We boarded a vehicle from the event center to the sit-out. We then met with the vendor because he's the best dog meat vendor I've ever seen in my city. I've tasted a lot of dog meat from different people, but his own is the best so far, to be honest.

While waiting for the food to be presented in a tray, we took some crazy photos outside the Bar and had a nice discussion together before going inside to share our experiences on how life is after school. To me, depression has gone really held me, but the money is there. Other shared theirs and we all laughed at the pivot point that non of us is working under anyone.

That's what got me surprised. So all of us are self-employed...? That's impressive. There's nothing so beautiful than having your own time and space instead of working for someone who doesn't pay you well for the job done. So we then brought in suggestions on how we can come together, live together and work together. We deliberated on where and how this would be possible. All of us are adults and shouldn't be dependent on our parents any longer for support.

After the discussion, which didn't end in a decision, the dog meat in trays was presented in front of us. For each table of four people, 2 trays were presented with fresh palm wine and spirits. We were 8 in total and two people shared one full tray of hot dog meat. I didn't waste a second to capture the uniqueness of the meat and drinks. As you can see, this is no ordinary dog meat. There were people who don't eat dog meat. So a tray of chicken was arranged for them to enjoy.

Songs were played, and we rushed the dog meat as if we were being chased. Anyone who finishes first would have to eat from another person's tray. We do crazy things for a living, and that's the fun of friendship. It was a loud night. After eating, I couldn't get up from the chair because I was filled to the brim. I couldn't even drink the spirit, as my distance is way too far, and it's only me that is going towards that direction.

We had a fun-filled discussion and played different crazy games we used to play in school. We started talking about some underground work that used to happen in school which most of us didn't know. We shared memories, laughed and then paid the bills before retiring home.

Our bill was 100k, as we paid both in cash and transfer. The 100k was well spent even though it was spent in one night. After all, we are all making our own money. It was really a night to remember.
