Today I will tell you in detail about one of the most beautiful and modern museums in Bangladesh.

What kind of City Landmark Zone have you visited? Briefly introduce it.

Bangladesh Military Museum is a modern and attractive museum located in Bijoy Sarani, Dhaka. It was officially opened to visitors on 17 January 2022. Built under the supervision of the Ministry of Defense, this museum showcases the glorious history of the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The most modernly designed military museum in Bangladesh preserves many important items from military history. What is there is given below:
☞Memorials and war relics of the Liberation War.
☞Various types of weapons and military equipment.
☞Models of warplanes, tanks and ships.
☞Modern digital gallery and 3D exhibition.
☞Historical documents and photographs of the army.

How were the services and history both inside and outside? (With pictures + prices, videos)

As soon as you enter the museum through the main gate, you are greeted by a charming atmosphere. On the left side, amidst the vast green field, beautiful sculptures of soldiers dressed in military uniforms in various poses have been installed. These statues seem to portray a real wartime scene, which attracts visitors instantly.

Upon entering, the lower machine gun is visible. Details of the name plate in front of it: 14.5 mm Quad Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun T-56 A four-barrel anti-aircraft machine gun made by the former Soviet Union (now Russia) which was acquired from China in 1977, 1980 and 2000. This weapon was used very successfully by the Vietnamese army against the US Air Force in the Vietnam War. In addition to air targets, it has uses against enemy infantry. The Russian army successfully used this weapon against Russian-Chechen snipers. On May 31, 1988, the Bangladesh Military Museum collected this souvenir from the Central Ordnance Depot, Dhaka Cantonment.

The Bangladesh Military Museum is a multi storey building built in a very modern design. It has a total of 5 floors, of which 2 floors are underground and 3 floors are above. An escalator is used to access each floor.

What is the demand for tourists inside and outside the place?

Since it is a populated place located in the heart of Dhaka, tourists who come here are interested in knowing the history of Bangladesh Military. Those who love to know about the glorious history of Bangladesh Military at home and abroad, come here and wander around with deep interest. Especially, school and college students, foreign tourists, new members of the military and their families, researchers come here more. I live in Dhaka city, so I visited the place on Friday during office holidays.

The color and design of different uniforms have been changed at different times, as shown in the picture below. Here, the green combat uniform mentioned in the nameplate is detailed. The new combat uniform introduced from October 15, 2012, has abolished the belt and has one pocket on the front of the trousers and four box pockets on the jacket or shirt. The front of the shirt sleeve is cuffless and has two pockets on the back of the shirt waist. The collar design of this shirt is also different.

Here, the flags of various countries participating in the UN peacekeeping mission in Bangladesh are displayed in a beautiful array, which is an educational and proud moment for visitors.

The front name plate is a tribute to the Commander-in-Chief of the Liberation War, Colonel (Retd.) (later General) MAG Osmani, PSC. He used to inspect the operations, war preparations, training and administrative activities of the freedom fighters stationed in Satkhira, Jessore, Kushtia, Pabna, Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Panchagarh and various border areas during the Liberation War in this jeep from the Bangladesh Forces Headquarters located at 8 Theatre Road, Kolkata. This jeep used by General Osmani is a bright reminder of the great Liberation War of Bangladesh which was gifted by the Jessore Education Board to the Bangladesh Army. The Bangladesh Military Museum collected this war memorial from the Central Mechanical Depot, Dhaka Cantonment on 31 May 1988.

There is a special emergency exit gate for quick and safe exit in any unexpected situation. Fire cabinets equipped with adequate fire extinguishers and hose pipes have been installed in each gallery of the museum to deal with any type of fire or accident.

Since ancient times, the use of cavalry or mounted soldiers along with infantry on the battlefield has been essential. Its importance did not decrease even in the Middle Ages. Although the need for horses on the battlefield has somewhat decreased in the modern era due to the invention of mechanical vehicles, the use of horses in military traditions and parades is still alive.

The Bangladesh Military has presented a brief presentation of what mountain life was like and self-defense techniques at the museum.

This vehicle, made in the United States, was used to carry mortars and machine guns on the battlefield. The British Army used this vehicle in World War II. This vehicle was recovered from the Pakistani occupation forces by the Bangladesh Army during the 1971 War of Independence. On May 31, 1988, the Bangladesh Military Museum collected this war memorial from the Central Ordnance Depot, Dhaka Cantonment. The ticket price to use this machine gun is 100 taka.

There are various cooking equipment for all members of the ship who are away from their loved ones. A team of well-trained sailors are on board to cook and serve.
